Yesterday Alden turned two years old. I can't believe how fast the past two years have flown by. He's so much fun and loves playing. He couldn't wait to eat his cupcakes, which he now just refers to as frosting. This is because he just eats off the frosting and then wants me to finish his cupcake. The other day we sat down and he ate his frosting and then I still had my cupcake so he asked to trade me, so he could eat off my frosting as well. Alden spent the morning at play group and enjoyed spending time with his friends. We had a smaller group than normal, but we still had fun. I brought cupcakes to celebrate Alden and Caroline's birthday and then got out balloons for the kids to run around with. Later we went out to Chick-fil-A for Alden's birthday dinner and then came home and opened a few presents. He got some GI Joes and a Jeep from Grammie, Poppy, and Sawyer and a bus and little people from Mom, Dad, and Leigh. He had a great birthday. It was low-key, but he he had fun. We love you Alden and are so happy you are part of our family.

Our big girl!
Leigh had her four month check up this week. She weighs 15 lbs 12 oz and is doing great. She has taken an interest in foods and loves to watch Alden eat and drink, but the few times we've tried to feed her, she loves the taste on her tongue, but then when she swallows she thinks she's choking. So we get a spoonful of it in her each day. But she smiles and grins throughout the feeding and thinks she is so big. Leigh also decided to roll over yesterday from her back to her stomach. Now she does it non-stop but gets frustrated being on her tummy. So it's a lot of work to watch her and make sure she doesn't get stuck on her tummy for too long.
Utah Trip
We had a fabulous time out in Utah. It was a very relaxing trip and loved spending so much time with family. The only bummer was that Alden got a stomach bug the last few days there, but it only slowed us down a little bit. Alden had a blast playing with his cousins and aunts and uncles. Leigh enjoyed watching all the happenings. And Patrick and I enjoyed other people watching our kids and also we finally had people to play games with consistently every night. Thanks to everyone who made our trip wonderful. Here are some pictures to sum up the trip.
Cole, Alden, and Lucy in the tub
Visiting Grandpa Moss
Alden, Kate, and Leigh (don't mind Alden's new cheesy face in most of these pictures)
Visiting Larlar and Poppa or as Alden calls them "LarPoppa"
Fun at the playground - Alden got really brave and would slide by himself
Alden, Lucy, and Cole/Mercedes all following closely behind each other
Dad keeping Leigh bundled at the park
Playing frisbee
Coloring with Elaine, Lucy, Cole, and Mercedes
Tolson and Lisa came to Alden's party - This is Tolson and Alden using a little Nerf gun

Happy Birthday Alden!

Ho Ho Ho!
Have you visited Santa yet? Santa was nice enough to come to the lobby of our apartment complex, so there was no lines and only a little tears. We are getting really excited for Christmas around here. The presents are wrapped and ready to go. I spent today cleaning my house so I can leave for the next few weeks and come back to a clean house. Now all that's left is to finish packing up tonight and then we are going to my parents tomorrow and then on to Utah Saturday night. We are so excited and can't wait to visit.

A boy after my own heart
Today Alden and Leigh were napping while I was laying in bed reading. When Alden woke up he came in to get me. He walks in and says "up" and wants to lay down and snuggle right up next to me. He then tells me he's hungry. So I asked what he would like to eat. His reply is "chick, fries, and lemonade". Around our house this means one thing...Chick-fil-a. I just started laughing and said that we might be able to make that a possibility for dinner tonight. I love watching him discover and learn new things each day and I especially love that he is developing opinions and is able to express them. Sometimes it's difficult since he is a toddler and once his mind is made up it's hard to distract him or change it, but when the request is Chick-fil-a, I'm not going to complain. I had just been lying there asking myself what was I going to get started on for dinner. And thanks to Alden, now it's going to be an easy dinner tonight!

Leigh's 2 month check up
My baby is getting so big!! We just got back from taking Leigh to the doctor for her two month check up. She is getting so big and the time is just flying by. She is weighing in at 13.2 lbs and is 22 inches long. I knew she had put on some weight, but I was shocked at how much. She's in the 93rd percentile. We just love her chubby cheeks and legs. The nurse today kept calling her "juicy". I think that is a perfect way to describe Leigh. She's so sweet and smiling. The doctor was checking her and she just kept smiling and cooing at him. She had to get a bunch of shots today and I always hate that part. But she did well and then we were ready to go. We got home and she took her medicine, nursed a little, and then passed out. I remember Alden always taking really good and long naps on days that he got his shots. I wish I had a current picture of her on this computer, but I don't. I'll try to upload one later this afternoon. But now, both babes are sleeping so I've got stuff to do. Mostly that means I'll probably lay down for a nap too :)
